A paper roll clamp is a hydraulic attachment that grips paper rolls from the sides and, depending on the model, rotates, tilts or handles several rolls at once.
Paper rolls are heavy, cylindrical and often sensitive to handling pressure, so they cannot always be handled efficiently with standard forks. Liftronic Machinery supplies paper roll clamps for sale in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and across the UAE.
The right clamp depends on roll diameter and width, maximum roll weight, paper grade, roll orientation, rotation and tilt, the number of rolls, clamp opening, contact pads and clamping force, as well as forklift capacity, attachment weight, load centre, carriage class and hydraulics.
A dedicated clamp gives controlled side gripping and, where needed, rotation or tilting. That helps when rolls are loaded and unloaded, moved between warehouse locations, positioned for production, rotated between orientations, stored vertically, transported horizontally, handled in groups or moved without pallets. Paper rolls vary widely in diameter, width and weight, and different paper grades need different handling.

Paper rolls and pulp bales
Paper roll / pulp bale clamp
These categories follow the paper roll clamp range published by Bolzoni. The final choice depends on your roll dimensions, weight, paper characteristics, forklift and the manufacturer's specifications.
180° or 360° rotation?
Choose a 180° rotating clamp when the roll only needs a defined orientation change in a predictable process (grip, lift, rotate, position), common in paper mills, paper warehouses, printing, converting and packaging.
Choose 360° when roll orientation changes frequently and the operation benefits from continuous rotation, for example in printing and production environments. Base the choice on the actual workflow, not on buying the most functionality.
Jumbo, tissue and intelligent clamps
Jumbo paper roll clamps: Built for large and jumbo rolls in paper mills, ports, large warehouses and forwarding companies. Provide the maximum roll weight, minimum and maximum diameter, width, orientation, rotation, forklift capacity and lift height.
Tissue roll clamps: Designed for heavy-duty tissue handling in tissue manufacturing, converting and hygiene-product plants, with particular attention to contact pads and gripping force.
Intelligent clamps: Automatic clamping-force control, such as Bolzoni's CTX G3 system, adjusts force across handling situations and paper grades to help prevent rolls going out of round. Useful where paper is sensitive, roll quality is critical, or grades, weights and diameters vary.
Tilting, non-rotating, multiple-roll and tine clamps
Tilting clamps: Approximately 90° forward tilt for vertical-to-horizontal positioning or placing rolls into production equipment. Tilting and 180° rotating versions add rotation for grip, lift, tilt, rotate, position workflows.
Non-rotating and lateral clamps: A practical choice for repetitive, high-volume handling of vertical rolls in paper mills, harbours, warehouses and forwarding, where rotation adds nothing.
Multiple roll clamps: Handle compatible rolls together, from 2 or 4 up to 8 rolls depending on the range, limited by roll weight, total load, diameter, width and forklift residual capacity.
Tine clamps: A specialised non-rotating clamp for rolls lying in the bilge position, not a replacement for a standard clamp.
Paper roll / pulp bale clamps: Multi-function clamps for sites handling both paper rolls and pulp bales.
Contact pads and clamping force
Contact pads touch the roll directly. Options include rubber-faced, steel-sprayed, polyurethane-faced, grooved black-rubber-faced, sand-paper-faced, flexible cast and tissue-paper pads, chosen for the paper grade, surface, weight, diameter and required force.
A clamp should not be chosen for maximum gripping force. It must grip securely while avoiding unnecessary pressure, especially with lightweight paper, tissue, sensitive grades, high-value rolls and rolls handled repeatedly.

Capacity and compatibility
A paper roll clamp adds weight and may change the load centre, so a forklift rated at 5 tonnes should not be assumed to have 5 tonnes available with the clamp fitted. The forklift's capacity chart and the clamp's specification must be read together, for 3, 5, 7 and 10-ton forklifts alike.
Check the forklift's capacity, carriage, hydraulic functions, pressure and flow, and mast, and the clamp's capacity, weight, opening, rotation, tilt and pads, against the roll's weight, diameter, width, orientation and paper grade. Mounting a clamp does not by itself confirm a safe, correctly rated configuration.
Buying a paper roll clamp in the UAE
Buy a paper roll clamp for continuous roll handling once dimensions, weights, paper grade, rotation, tilt, number of rolls, forklift capacity, carriage, hydraulics and pads are confirmed. New, used and refurbished clamps may be available, with condition confirmed for each unit.

Minimum and maximum roll diameter, width and maximum weight
An attachment that grips and transports cylindrical paper rolls from their sides, often with rotation.
What types of paper roll clamps are available?
180° and 360° rotating, jumbo, tissue, intelligent, tilting, tilting-and-rotating, non-rotating, multiple-roll, lateral, tine and paper roll / pulp bale clamps.
What is the difference between 180° and 360° paper roll clamps?
A 180° clamp gives a defined rotation range; a 360° clamp gives continuous rotational freedom for frequent orientation changes.
Which clamp is suitable for tissue paper rolls?
A dedicated tissue roll clamp, with suitable contact pads and gripping force.
What is an intelligent paper roll clamp?
A clamp with automatic clamping-force control, such as Bolzoni's CTX G3, that helps prevent rolls going out of round.
What is a non-rotating paper roll clamp?
A clamp that grips rolls without rotating them, suited to high-volume handling of vertical rolls.
Does a paper roll clamp reduce forklift capacity?
It can. The attachment adds weight and may change the load centre, so residual capacity must be checked.
Can I buy a paper roll clamp in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah?
Yes, subject to the required configuration and current availability.
